about me 

I’m from a tiny town in New Jersey. Over 70,000 people crammed inside four square miles. Less than 1% of them are encouraged to pursue a dream. It’s either become a crackhead, gangbanger, drug dealer, or stand on the corner with a plastic cup in your hand. Or get out of there. I knew I was going to leave since I was a little girl. I didn't know what I was going to do, but I knew who I was going to be.

I was fortunate enough to have parents that understood from childhood that I’m extremely tenacious and there’s nothing stopping me from pursuing my passions. So they never made career suggestions (even though I know they wanted to) and I decided when I was 14 that I was going to be a writer. And I just wrote. Throughout high school, college, internships, jobs, just nonstop...thinking I was going to write novels and have them adapted for the screen, then maybe one day direct them.

 

But then I went to a local film festival and someone suggested that I take the shortcut and write screenplays instead. At first I was terrified. But I looked up the scripts to my top five favorite movies, thought it looked pretty fun, and never looked back.
